Protocol Training

Deep, practical training on the telecontrol and substation protocols — frame structure, object models, configuration and on-wire analysis.

  • IEC 60870-5-101 / 103 / 104 — ASDU types, causes of transmission, interrogation, time sync
  • IEC 61850 — data model, SCL (ICD/CID/SCD), MMS reporting, GOOSE, sampled values
  • DNP3 — object groups/variations, classes, unsolicited responses, Secure Authentication
  • DLMS/COSEM — OBIS codes, interface classes, association & security
  • Live packet capture and interpretation; interoperability pitfalls

Protocol Consultation

Advisory and hands-on support when an interface has to work — before FAT, during commissioning, or when two vendors disagree on the standard.

Custom-made Protocols

When a device speaks something proprietary or non-standard, we build the driver — and, where needed, the converter to a standard protocol.

  • Reverse-engineering and specification of undocumented serial / TCP protocols
  • New protocol drivers for the RTU and SCADA Gateway platform
  • Bespoke converters (e.g. legacy protocol → IEC 104 / IEC 61850 / DNP3)
  • Conformance test harness and documentation for the new driver
